چکیده

One of the distinct advantages of switched-capacitor (SC) circuits is that they are compatible with existing CMOS technology. Hence, they are among the most popular analog building blocks. However, the standard design methodology assumes the use of infinite gain and infinite bandwidth operational amplifiers. The gain limitation of operational amplifiers introduces finite gain error. Section 2 of this paper discusses the background of switched-capacitor circuit and derives the relative magnitude of the finite

Operational Amplifier Gain-Bandwidth Product Effects on the Performance of . Switched-Capacitor Networks

A method of analyzing switched-capacitor (SC) filters which incorporates a single-pole model of the operational amplifiers (op amp’s) is presented. Closed-form algebraic expressions for filter transfer functions in the z-domain are obtained which are computationally more efficient than time-domain methods. The necessity for including a frequency dependent model of the op amp rather than the com...

Comparator-Based Switched-Capacitor Delta-Sigma Modulation

In order to eliminate the use of operational amplifiers (opamps) in sampled-data systems and thus avoid several delicate tradeoffs involved with their design, a new class of switched-capacitor circuits based on comparators was reported. The novelty of this comparator-based switched-capacitor (CBSC) design method is the detection of a virtual ground condition rather than forcing it through feedb...

Improved Switched-Capacitor Interpolators with Reduced Sample-and-Hold Effects

This paper proposes improved switched-capacitor (SC) interpolators using a novel sampling technique which eliminates the undesired distortion due to the sample-and-hold shaping effect at the lower input sampling rate. Such a sampling technique not only leads to a precise analog interpolation, as its digital counterpart does, but also allows to simplify the design procedures and resulting SC cir...

A CMOS Ratio-Independent and Gain-Insensitive Algorithmic Analog-to-Digital Converter - Solid-State Circuits, IEEE Journal of

AbstructThis paper describes the design of a CMOS capacitor-ratio-independent and gain-insensitive algorithmic analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. Using the fully differential switched-capacitor technique, the A/D converter is insensitive to capacitor-ratio accuracy as well as finite gain and offset voltage of operational amplifiers. The switch-induced error voltage becomes the only major error ...

Power Consumption Reduction in High-Speed ΣDelta Bandpass Modulators

Power consumption is a key point in the design of high-speed switched capacitor (SC) circuits, which allow to efficiently implement a number of analog functions. Among them, SC Σ∆ modulators are very popular for A/D conversion: in this kind of circuits, operational amplifiers are the most consuming cells because of their requirements in terms of DC gain and unitygain frequency. A new amplifier ...
